Your biggest fear isn't failure

Believe it or not, being an artist isn’t my main goal.
My main goal has always been to spark self-belief in as many people as possible. To “inspire” you.
But inspiration is overrated. Or maybe just overused as a term.
Far too often we say someone is inspirational, but I think it gets misused in place of plain ol’ “awe”.
Being inspired should actually follow up with some sort of action. Some movement toward the thing in which you’ve been inspired.
But we don’t. We watch. Our mouths go “ooohhh” and “ahhhh”, and then we quickly go back to doing the same nothing routine we’ve always done.
It’s hard for people to accept that their biggest fear isn’t failure.
It’s success.
If there is one thing I’ve learned in these last 20+ years, it’s that we are quick to sabotage ourselves if it means we get to stay comfy in our safe little mediocrity.
Quit pretending you don’t know what I’m talking about. You know where you could better spend your time. You know all the stuff you’re avoiding doing. You know exactly how good it feels to watch or scroll or play instead of being disciplined in your pursuit.
I’m not here to tell you you’re bad or right or whatever. I’m here to make sure you’re at least honest with yourself about why you’re not where you keep telling yourself you want to be.
Be ok with it, or change it.
