Won't let this slide

Most of you don’t know that I used to do other stuff. But my skills and experience were questioned today, and I just can’t let that slide.

I did a lot of work over the years. This barely scratches the surface of that work.

On top of my deep library of abstract work and portraits that you see here, I also wrote and produced 10 solo albums of music, (one of those tracks backs this carousel), dozens of music videos, political commercials, graphic design work for many companies, portrait and event photography, and plenty more. I hustled my ass off to provide for my kids with my talents.

You are free to dislike my work. I’ve learned in my many years that it’s an inevitability. You can question my approach. You can hate me as a person.

But one thing you absolutely cannot do is question my dedication, my experience, or my overall developed skills.

I certainly won’t have some arrogant non-artist “art teacher” telling me that my current work as an illustrator is somehow illegitimate. I also won’t let this clown, who has never earned a true living as an artist or built any meaningful client base with his art, try to tell me that I’m ashamed or fake because I don’t share work that is long past dated. Work that, while I’m proud of, is no longer relevant to my current goals.

I try to rise above pricks like this, but sometimes you have to be petty to make a point.

I’ve studied and done more in the art world than most. Certainly more than this never-been who doubts my credentials and experience.

So, if he’s the ONLY person that sees this, that’s fine. I would tag this mediocre excuse of an educator, but he doesn’t deserve to receive an ounce of attention for his work. He’ll have to live with his pathetic 60 followers.

Unlike him, I have a massive network of supporters that love my current work, for whom I love creating. To those of you that have been there since the beginning, I appreciate you. And we’re just getting started.
