The power of vulnerability.

There is a dark temptation to pretend to know it all. To pretend to only have a best side. To pretend you only put out perfection.

While this can be alluring, it’s false. And if you become dependent on the illusion, when it’s inevitably revealed, your own ability to cope with being seen as you are might be devastating.

If you’d like to know a little secret, lean in…

No one is perfect. We all have doubts. We are all going to fail at times.

That being said, the universe demands balance, and there is an odd power in vulnerability.

If I accept and show that I am broken, flawed, and incapable of knowing everything, then others relate to this and gather to support. Because they too know this feeling.

We as humans enjoy watching one of our own overcome. It shows us what we are capable of. It provides hope. It excites us.

But it is when that same person begins to believe they are superior and without flaws that the tide begins to turn. Those that once supported become disgusted. Those that once believed begin to regret and the reminder of reality’s cruel nature manifests.

I am not perfect. I do not seek greatness at the expense of others. I do not wish to win so others may lose.

I am here to see how good I (capital I) can get. But there is no measurement of that beyond what I (capital I) did yesterday.

This is not me vs you.

This is me vs me.

And in my world, the ideal would be that we both win in our battle against ourselves.

So if I can arm you in your conquest to achieve, then take my sword, and swing with all your might.
