Thank You

What originally started as a goal to maybe raise a couple Gs to help with rent ended up becoming one of the most impactful single days of my life.

For those that don’t know, what you’re about to watch is a 6.5 hour session where I auctioned off some limited spots for commissions and a ton of other stuff to raise money for my buddy battling cancer.

Historically, I’ve used this platform for practical reasons. Namely to promote my work and my experience dealing with the mental adversity that we all deal with, but for artists in particular.

When I realized the dire situation my friend of over 30 years was encountering, I knew I had to at least TRY to do something for him.

I put the word out everywhere I could. I posted videos, I shared shows, I spoke to other creators and retailers.

I was very pessimistic, as is my nature, because I’ve done stuff like this before and it amounted to almost nothing. But this time, YOU showed up!

A modest goal to pay a month’s mortgage ended up raising ten thousand smackers!

And I say smackers because that amount definitely smacked me in the face with overwhelming gratitude.

Which is a perfect theme for today, Thanksgiving.

I’m not delusional, his situation is very serious, and while this amount is great, it’s not likely going to make a major difference in the possible ultimate outcome.

But what it did do is provide some relief and some breathing room for Rick and Summer while they battle through this together.

If all you did was watch the videos, or hit the like button, or comment, or share, it ALL mattered.

So for that, thank you ALL for being part of this. For helping a complete stranger.
