Still learning

I don’t know what I’m doing.

I know more than I used to, but I’m still learning who I am as an artist.

I know some foundational principles. I know how to express an idea. I understand how anatomy works.

I only kind of know how to ink. I do a good job of faking it. But I think most professional level inkers might see my stuff and find it rough, unrefined, and in need of serious work.

But I do it in a way that my hands enjoy. It positively stimulates the part of my brain that would overthink a cleaner style. And ultimately, that’s why I do art… to enjoy myself.

That’s what I would suggest in your practices. Do the stuff that’s fun for you.

Perfection is severely overrated.
