Sometimes I think about quitting

NGL, I think about quitting all this a lot.

Sometimes it seems ridiculous.

What am I doing? What am I trying to accomplish here? Does any of this matter at all?

This success has more customers and supporters coming to me than ever. Happy to hand over their hard earned money for one of my drawings.

All while some of the worst stuff on earth is happening. Some of it just blocks from my home.

The chaos and randomocity (yeah I made that one up, but I like it) seems unfair. And I’ve been on the receiving end of some miserable times myself, so it’s also hard not to think , “well I earned this!”

But the truth is we’re all just flailing at our best attempt to survive and make something that feels SOMEWHAT meaningful. Family, friends, career, lovers, partners, existence.

I know I could hang it all up and go do something else. Let go of this self imposed pressure to “accomplish”. I spent 25 years being at the bottom. I’m perfectly comfortable there.

But that’s the problem. And I don’t think I’m alone.

I don’t want to be comfortable with mediocrity. I don’t want to self sabotage. I want to be the best version I’m capable of.

And that might mean making some adjustments. That might mean letting off the gas, or saying no instead of yes to every opportunity.

But for now, I have commitments to fulfill. People to bring joy to. And life to live.

If you’ve ordered stuff from me, and you’re still waiting, THANK YOU so much for your patience. I am absolutely working on it.

And if you’re just reading this as a fan, thank YOU for getting this far.

I think we’re both in for a helluva ride.
