So much to learn

You probably can’t even see it, but my favorite part of this piece is the subtle highlight reflection in her thigh that has a super subtle transition from a warmish hyper pale greenish/blue, to a cooler almost-lavender.

There is some level of madness with mixing paint colors that is hard to describe. The magic of relative color theory, the understanding of complimentary colors, the differences of tint, shade, chroma, etc…

I’m not really that good at it to be honest. I might be better than the average person, but I’m so far away from a true master in this sense.

It’s invigorating knowing even after all these years I still have so much to learn.

I hope I never have to retire.
