Playing it safe

Meeting our own expectations is terrifying.
Humans are extremely critical. Success is terrifying because it puts us into the forefront of that criticism. People don’t want to experience that so we often choose positions and work that allows us the safety of being in the background, nestled among the rest of the herd.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s ok to want safety, security, and ease.
I’ve never been that person. I’ve tried. I tried to do “regular” work. I’ve done sales, corporate gigs, waited tables, the whole shebang.
I always enjoyed the learning process, but once I was past that part, life became unbearable and I would either self sabotage or straight up quit.
I just always felt like I was meant to do my own thing. Carve my own path. Sink or swim on my own merits.
And there’s been way more sinking than swimming, let me promise you that.
This new success has been entertaining for sure. I’m super grateful for it. But this beast is just starting to learn his powers, so if you’re down to ride and see how far I can take this, I’d love your support.
If you’re here to criticize, that’s ok too. That’s a much easier job. 😉
