It can be terrifying.
Every single time I work a piece and go through the process, there are varying degrees of fear, especially when the ink comes out.
Ink is permanent. And while there are tricks and options to make minor repairs to mistake, you can’t make big ones or too many or the overall piece will lose its beauty.
But every time I feel that apprehension, I try to reinforce that a mistake is a lesson learned. An opportunity to expand my artistic wisdom. Because wisdom can only be learned through experience.
So give yourself permission to fail, and be willing to fail a lot. It’s the only path to confidence, failing less, and ultimately, true success.
