Little victories

I did a lot of things right on this piece. The ink-work of Kraven’s face at that size turned out great. I love how I did his hair and the fur of his vest in particular. The blowing wind look of the clothing and wraps of the spear look nice.

Overall the inking was decent. But I have much room to improve on in my decision making and anticipation. I still have tricks I need to learn and master. There are no “Un-do” options with inking the way I need to. White out affects the grey marker that inevitably goes on top. So I need to be more patient.

The pose is strong and the background is nice. He looks fairly relaxed but still very intense. If I did it again I would probably try an even more intense angle and, from the viewers standpoint, try to amplify a feeling of helplessness as “his prey”.

And I also wish I had Spider Mans mask blowing in the wind. That would’ve been a little tweak that would’ve made a big difference.

Oh… and a damn good fist… 👍🏻

A solid final product! Each piece has successes and “failures”. If you’re gonna be hard on yourself about what you did wrong, make sure you also praise yourself when you do something well. Little victories add up. Period.
