Part of being an artist is taking little bits of inspiration from all kinds of places, and then mashing them up into what will eventually become your individual style.

One of the many sources you’ll likely take from, is other artists.

Joey has been someone who had a major impact on me for many years. Long before he ever knew me, and long before I ever came back to comics.

Getting the chance to become friends, and ultimately, to now collaborate on these pieces has been incredibly rewarding.

Our styles are very different, but it’s hard not to be jealous and want to steal his techniques for my own.

I’ll take what I can learn from a badass like him. I think he does the same with me. Either way, we clearly make some insanely awesome work together.
