I think most people underestimate the importance of the little things.


For example, in this piece there were a ton of tiny adjustments in his hands and sword, the flowing of his kimono, his leg position, and his hair.


The overall pose initially drawn was barely modified. But those tiny tweaks are the details that give this piece life.


The challenge of learning how to see how each element works and compliments every other element to compose the piece as a whole is a lifetime of trial and error refinement.
