My whole life I’ve been battling that obnoxious little sh!t.

He’s always there with me, telling me I’m not good enough, or that I don’t deserve to be happy or successful. He’s a nagging, unrelenting leach.

He’s also incredibly sneaky.

He’s like a ventriloquist, throwing his miserable voice across my brain and perfectly mimicking me as a trick to stop me from trying.

Compliments and amazement come from outsiders, praising my work and talent and this little dickhead starts yelling over them, “DON’T LISTEN TO THEM! YOU SUCK! YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!”

It took me the better part of 5 decades to figure him out. To learn his little parlor tricks. To understand how to muffle his misery.

But it’s pretty simple… he’s ALWAYS negative. He’s really the ONLY negative thing in my head. So now when doubt starts to slither its way into my thinking, I know exactly who that is and I tell him to STFU.

I just do what I know I’m built for and trust the universe to handle the rest.

F*ck that little prick. He ain’t stopping this.
