Inking

Inking is for suckers.

lol. I’m kidding of course. I typically ink my work.

But not always.

Sometimes I think converting pencils to inks is the better choice. I genuinely enjoy how they look and pencils can do things that inks just can’t.

They’re capable of value variety and have a scratchiness that can add texture and energy to a piece that the more refined and restricted black inks cannot.

So, this was ultimately the finished work for my Final Boss 6. I scanned in these final pencils and converted them to “inks” for the next stage… colors.

And while the color for this cover was relatively simple, they were anything but…

That’s something we’ll show and talk about tomorrow though.
