Ever Evolving

It’s interesting seeing my own work evolve.
Getting lost in the day to day and making an effort to ignore all of the goals I haven’t yet accomplished makes for a wonderful surprise when you look back at work from 18 months prior.
Work that I once thought was phenomenal can now look so meh.
It’s encouraging. I try to work knowing I’ll never be satisfied with whatever I’m putting out today, but rather how much I will grow if I just keep working at it.
I make better decisions more quickly now. My work is both more complex and simple. The process of refining style is perpetual, so why fret over where you are in the process today?
I have two conventions in the next 6 weeks. And compared to last year my inventory is significantly improved. So what does that indicate 3,5, or 7 years from now?
Who knows? Not me.
But I do know the only way I’ll find out is to keep sitting at that desk and putting in my time.
