Dumb comes before smart

There’s always a point when you’re “dumb”.
What I mean is, before you know something, or how to do something, you DON’T know how to do it. And the more complex that thing is, the more things you need to know that you don’t currently.
So you’re going to feel dumb. But that’s ok. Dumb always precedes smart and we’re here to keep getting smarter.
There was a time I couldn’t draw a circle. And I don’t mean a perfect freehanded circle, I mean a circle. Like the letter O.
There was a time when I didn’t know how to draw eyes. Arms. Metal.
There was a time when I didn’t know how to shade. Or didn’t understand lighting.
There was a time when I didn’t know how to illustrate Magneto’s powers.
But today, I finally did a version of it that looks close to what I want to see. I was dumb before this piece, and after this piece, I’m now way less dumb.
It’s not perfect, and I will likely continue to refine it. But today, I had a big win.
This is why I stay curious. I’m just trying to see how good I can get.
