Can you spot the subtle tweaks in these 3 pieces?

Btw, these aren’t progress pics of one piece. They are individual pieces of art made in the progress of one final creation.

In my experience, drawing at a larger scale can sometimes be difficult. Seeing the image as a whole can challenge overall proportions, especially when the character themselves are partially cutoff.

There are many ways to work through this.

1. Step back often. Look at the image from a distance and reassess.

2. I also like having my YouTube videoing from above, with a second phone on the desk that shows a smaller version/perspective live. It allows me to “step back” without getting up from my desk.

3. That doesn’t always work for me, so I do a rough first pass (like the first one here) scan it in and make some adjustments digitally. I even had to do this between my finalized tight pencils to my inks to get the ideal results.

One of these days I’ll show this actual process and the tools used. If for no other reason than to have an actual professional correct me to give me an easier method. 😂
