Become a true professional

I used to not understand…
I couldn’t fathom how an artist or creator could be like, “Oh wow, I don’t remember doing that at all!”
But the reason was because I wasn’t really an “artist” yet. At least not the kind of artist that I would consider to be a professional.
When you switch art from being a passion, or a hobby, to being a true professional, what really happens is you go from pouring your everything into an individual piece of art, to pouring your everything into your craft.
The individual results don’t really matter. Becoming engrossed in the investment into your skills starts to overshadow any particular piece.
Creating a good piece of art is no longer this major trophy that you carry, and point to, and brag about. Usually because you’re already too busy working on the next one.
The amount of work I produce now dwarfs anything I did in my previous “career” as a full time artist. The quantity AND quality is incomparable.
And the best part is, the romance of it all is still there with a fraction of the insecurity.
These are the things I want to impart. That I want for ALL of my creator friends. It can be done.
So do it.
